Sierra Metal Fabricators Inc. was established in 1974 by Douglas and Pamela
White. We specialize in precast concrete forms and do custom fabrication of
material handling equipment, mining machinery, sewer treatment plant equipment,
components for the commercial building industry and so on. Our shop is 30,000 sq.
ft. under roof and 3 acres of yard space.
Operating and Quality Control Procedures....
At the start of a job, procedures and specifications are discussed between Quality
Control, Shop Foreman and Job Leadman to insure a mutual knowledge of the end
product. Each man that is involved in the different stages of production is then
informed of tolerances, welding specifications, and assemble procedures that must
be followed. Materials to be used on jobs are checked with Heat Number and Mill
Certified Test Reports to insure material conforms to job specifications. Test
Reports are copied and provided upon request along with documentation of welding
procedures to all customers and inspection firms. Following completion of first item,
all dimensions are checked including weld size and length. After production begins,
Quality Control visually inspects parts before shipment. Each welder is certified in
the process and material being used, and is assigned a letter stamp and stamps
each part when complete. Head of Quality Control is Steven M. Sears who is a
Certified Welding Inspector, #89060861. Our shop is a Los Angeles City Certified
fabricator.

Steven has been with Sierra Metal Fabricators for 20 years. He is a Certified
Welding Inspector, and is responsible from start to finish of all jobs.
